Preventative Care

Navigating Childhood with Ease: Being a child means encountering countless new experiences, and dental visits can often be a source of anxiety. At Children's Dental Land, we prioritize educating both our young patients and their parents about the importance of dental health.

Reducing Dental Visit Anxiety: We believe that informed children are less anxious about dental appointments. By understanding the significance of dental care, they adopt better oral hygiene practices at home, leading to fewer cavities and healthier smiles throughout their lives.

Visit us at Children's Dental Land for a stress-free dental experience that fosters lifelong positive habits.

What are Sealants? Sealants are thin layers of resin applied to the pits, fissures, and grooves of molars to safeguard these surfaces from decay.

Protecting Back Teeth: Decay commonly begins in the grooves and pits of back teeth, particularly within the first few years after they emerge. By sealing these surfaces with resin sealants, we effectively prevent this type of decay.

Why Choose Sealants? Dental sealants are highly effective in preventing decay on the surfaces where they are applied.

Reducing Cavity Risk: While decay can still occur between teeth, the application of sealants significantly lowers the overall risk of cavities.

Discover how sealants at Children's Dental Land can help protect your child's smile and promote long-lasting oral health.

Fluoride Treatment

Natural Fluoride Benefits: Decades ago, scientists discovered that children in areas with natural fluoride in drinking water had fewer cavities compared to those in areas without fluoride. Fluoride absorbed by the body during tooth formation (from pregnancy to early childhood) integrates into the enamel, making it stronger.

Continued Protection: Even after teeth have erupted, fluoride from toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental treatments continues to strengthen enamel and reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Consult Your Pediatric Dentist: If you live in an area without fluoride in the drinking water, consult your pediatric dentist and physician about fluoride tablets for your children.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Prevent Tooth Decay with Silver Diamine Fluoride

What is SDF? Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a clear liquid applied topically to a tooth's surface with caries.

Effective Decay Management: SDF has been proven to slow the progression of tooth decay, making it an effective treatment option.

Understanding Primary Teeth: Primary teeth stay in place until a permanent tooth emerges and pushes it out. However, some children lose their primary teeth too early due to accidents or dental disease.

Preventing Future Dental Problems: In such cases, your pediatric dentist may recommend a space maintainer to prevent space loss and avoid future dental issues. It's crucial to remember that some teeth are not replaced until a child is 12 or 14 years old.

Custom Fit Solutions: Space maintainers are appliances made of metal or plastic, custom-fit to your child's mouth. Most children adjust to them quickly. Without a space maintainer, teeth can tilt toward the empty space, causing permanent teeth to come in crooked.

If left untreated, the condition may require future orthodontic treatment. Space maintainers hold open the empty space left by a lost tooth. They steady the remaining teeth, preventing movement until the permanent tooth takes its natural position.
